Enshin Karate Southeast Denver Dojo
Enshin Karate is a practical system of empty-handed
self-defense based on a strategy of circular movement allowing you to use
your opponent's power and momentum against him or her. This strategy, called
sabaki, enables its practitioners to convert defense into offense.
Enshin stresses the development of flexibility, power, and speed, with
emphasis on stretching, conditioning, and technique.
Training in Enshin Karate builds spiritual awareness,
mental alertness, a sense of confidence, and provides resources for meeting
the challenges encountered in life. Enshin Karate was developed by
Kancho Joko Ninomiya, winner
of the 1978 All-Japan Tournament and founder of the
Sabaki Challenge.
The Sabaki Challenge is the
internationally-famous competition for world champions in full contact
karate. Black belts from all martial arts compete for the title of
world champion in their weight division. The Sabaki Challenge uses a
rigorous format of full-contact, bare-knuckles punches and kicks without
the use of pads or gloves for protection. Enshin Karate black belts
are eligible to fight in the tournament.
Enshin Karate Southeast Denver Dojo welcomes students
from all walks of life and all ages. Children can begin
training in Enshin Karate at 7 years of age. Please see our
